Roberto Zanon, Phd, received his architecture degree in 1989 and he has been listed on the Ordine degli Architetti of Padua since 1990 to 2014; he consults in interior design, restoration and architecture fields. In industrial and product design, he has provided professional advice since 1987 for new products utilizing different materials.
He participated in several exhibitions with prizes and honourable mentions in many design competitions. Projects and achievements in architecture and design fields are published on many Italian and foreign magazines, catalogues, newspapers, books, serials TV, films and Internet sites. He has interests in all the representation techniques and has explored, not only the traditional tools, but the use of computer graphics, arriving to use the computer as a active partner in the projectual process. Actually he is full professor of Design at Academy of Fine Arts of Venezia.

At Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia IUAV, he was visiting professor in “Fondamenti di progettazione” in the academic year 2000-2001.
At Padova University he was visiting professor in: “Industrial design” in the academic years 2001-2002, 2003-2004 and 2005-2006; in “Tecniche di Allestimento” in the academic years 2002-2003, 2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2006-2007 and 2007-2008; in “Scenografia” in the academic years 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2007-2008, 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.
At Firenze University he was visiting professor in “Laboratorio di Disegno” in the academic year 2002-2003; in “Allestimento II” in the academic years 2003-2004 and 2004-2005; in “Museografia e Allestimento” in the academic years 2004-2005, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007.
At Venezia Universty (Ca Foscari) he was visiting professor in: “Museografia e Museotecnica ” in the academic years 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007 and 2007-2008; in “Museografia e Museotecnica 2” in the academic years 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007 and 2007-2008; in “Museografia e Allestimento” in the academic year 2008-2009.
At Academy of Fine Arts of L’Aquila he was professor in “Design” in the academic year 2002-2003.

In 1995, he co-founded “Y&Z design atrium”, an international and multidisciplinary design studio with offices in Italy, USA and Japan.
In 1997 he became member of “MOBAS”, a joint venture of product designers from over the world (Netherland, Japan, United States, Germany, Italy) organized to design and develop consumer products.
In 1998 he is founder associate of the “Gruppo di Ricerca e Design” (gRiD), society working in the research and experimentation in the furniture field.
In 2000 he became member of “Wagner Associati” a consultancy agency of interior and industrial design.
In 2002 he starts a project partnership with the studio Zan’s in Hong Kong.
In 2003 he is involved in the project for the objects, the layout and the management of the website designobject.it.
In 2005 his studies on perception and on contemporary jewels flow together in the exhibition “Locouture+RZ” in Padova.
In 2007 his experiences of study and on the project of the contemporary jewels arrived at the ceramic jewels “Cellula Z” (with Gaia Zebellin). The necklace collana “Sette”, designed in 1999, belongs to the collection of the Museum of Fine arts, Boston (Usa).
In 2008 he designed the ”Sinapsi Compositive” a series of cards to develop the project relationship between fashion and design (with Isabella Bortolotto).
In 2009 he start to study jewellery design at Istituto Pietro Selvatico of Padova.
In 2010 his experimentation on ephemeral jewels guides him to the exhibition “Gioiellidamore” in Vicenza (with Silvia Bonin). He start to improve the experimentations with the paper as support to realize three-dimensional objects.
In 2011 he receive the degree of Maestro Orafo at Istituto Pietro Selvatico of Padova.
In 2012 he joined to the Phd “Design e Innovazione” in Napoli. He exhibited the ring “Strbzz” at the exhibition Fuoriluogo: Gioielli+arredi inattesi a Vicenza.
In 2013 he exhibited a necklace made of polyurethane gel at the Casa Museu do objeto brasileiro in São Paulo in Brazil.
In 2014 he won the Premio Trieste at “Concorso Internazionale di Design Trieste Contemporanea” (with Greta Bignami) with the project of a set o stamps.
In 2015 he was selected to the final round of the Premio Murano with a blown glass vase “Variazioni dinamiche colorate” made by master Iuri Fuin of Formia Glass. He won the “Sciacca Handcraft Design Contest” with the project of a couple of earrings.
In 2016 he exhibited the silver brooch “G-reta” in the exhibition “Skin” at the Museo del Gioiello, in Basilica Palladiana, Vicenza. He obtained the PhD in Design at the Seconda Università in Napoli. The app of “Sinapsi Compositive” is realized.
In 2017 he exhibited the paper bracelet “Bau bau” at the Galleria Ponte Rosso, Milano and the bookcase “Alette” at Fabbrica del Vapore, Milano.
He is contributing editor in the fields of architecture, design and art. He also wrote several books on exhibition design and museography.
In 1999 he became correspondent for the Korean magazine Design Net.
Since 2002 he is correspondent for the Italian magazine Archimagazine.
Since 2005 he is correspondent for the Hong Kong’s magazine Hinge.
Since 2017 e is correspondent for the magazine Mywhere
